At only 3 months old, Cha Cha Matcha is already a huge success in Little Italy!
The place is very cheerful, with great summer colors, tropical vibe, a great music and b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l crowd!
Founders Matthew Morton and Conrad Sandelman, college friends, traveled around the world and ended up across the Globe, in Uji, located in Japan.
They fell in love with the culture, the people…and of course, the Tea!
Coming back to NYC they joined their expertise in hospitality, with their huge passion for the matcha tea, and voilá…created Cha Cha Matcha made with tea leaves directly from Uji, Japan!
The Matcha’s there are: the tradicional Matcha, Matcha Latte, both hot and cold, Coconut Matcha Latte (the one we had!!!), Matcha Cappuccino and the refreshing Matcha Lemonade.
They also serve regular coffee - Drips, Expresso, Macchiato, Cappuccino, Lattes, Americanos, Cold Brews, Draft Lattes, etc….and some great pastries to pair with your drinks!
When you go there, look at the wall inside the bar area…they have some interesting vinyl disc covers, all “Cha Cha” inspired, like “Cha Cha with Billy May” and “Mr. Cha Cha Cha with René Touzet”!
A little ‘cultural' info: "The name Cha Cha Matcha is derived from the word “Ocha,” which translates to “tea” in Japanese.”
Location: 373 Broome Street (with Mott Street)
