This past Saturday I had dinner with a great group of Vegetarian/Vegan friends at an amazing restaurant.
Location is not so “behind the scenes”, since it’s only a few steps away from Union Square, but we all really enjoyed it and recommend!
Nix was founded by the Michelin-starred chef John Fraser and James Truman, the restaurant serves a huge variety of dishes containing vegetables (one of his cooking passions), very fresh and seasonal.
The dishes were all prepared in a way perfect for sharing which, in a group of people, is great…since we could all taste a bit everything! The flavors were fantastic, presentation was impeccable and the energy of the place is hard to describe, but very very very welcoming and calm.
Try the House hummus, zaatar; Tandoor bread; Steamed tofu, smoky mushroom dashi & celtuce; Cauliflower tempura and steamed buns, house pickles and the Artichoke and broccoli rabe sauté, preserved tomatoes!
It’s a great place for drinks too, since they have a full bar.
Chef Fraser’s belief is "that eating vegetarian or vegan should feel more celebration than sacrifice”, and we couldn’t agree more!
Currently, they are only opened for dinner, but said that their goal is by this upcoming September to offer brunch and lunch too!
We can’t wait to try these new menus!
