Our movie expert contributor, Vicky Toni, talks a little about the upcoming TriBeCa Film Festival!
"If you are a cinephile you can’t miss the 16th Annual Tribeca Film Festival.
The event was founded in 2001 by Robert De Niro, Craig Hatkoff and Jane Rosenthal to promote the cultural and economic revitalization of Lower Manhattan after 9/11.
A cultural event with strong roots in independent film that celebrates the power of storytelling in many forms – from film to online work, VR, gaming, music and more.
The 2017 program is I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E! Really! You will be able to see the world premiere of blockbusters-to-be like ‘The Circle’ with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, exclusive talks with cast and directors like Quentin Tarantino and the closing night will have a screening of the Godfather at Radio City with a reunion of the original cast. How awesome is that?
And there’s more! The festival announced last year the Snapchat shorts category which means you can create and submit your own storytelling! Submissions for this year are closed, but you can try next year!"
