In addition, this unique tour is designed to give a comprehensive history of the NYC Subway system, from its groundbreaking in 1901 up through the creation of the three different proprietary lines which were unified into the system we know today.

Plus, we’ll uncover information and learn about spaces even the most seasoned commuter might not know about.

Moreover, this tour will stop in stations that are all open to the public.

Using the 6 train as our own ten-car time machine, we will ride through and see three abandoned ghost stations that 4, 5, and 6 riders unknowingly pass through everyday: Worth Street, 18th Street and the famed City Hall Station. We will not stop inside these stations.

New York City: Pulse [The City That Never Sleeps]

Curiosities City Secrets Behind the Scenes New York City Pulse by Hawk Films

In the middle of the Covid-19, a global pandemic, we decided to share a beautiful video we named New York City: Pulse [The City That Never Sleeps]. Let’s share and pray for New York City!

We’re posting this video in homage to our beautiful and always dynamic New York City! LET’S ALL SHARE IT?!

The city that never sleeps, is now asleep. But, hopefully not for long!

While everyone should be doing their part during this crucial moment, staying at home and helping those that need help, we should keep blessing daily the NYC and the world!

Check out our Covid-19 Instagram Highlight to see how to help small local NYC businesses and share with us any NY business you’d like us to feature!

Help those in need, donate, share information, help the elderly, the sick! Do everything you can! This is a test and one of the lessons is to learn how to be of service to those around you! So, BE OF SERVICE!

We are in this together and this too shall pass…and we will get stronger and more united. Let’s awake the city that never sleeps!

This is not at all intended to be a religious statement, but there is a powerful and famous Prayer by St. Francis of Assisi that states:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me bring love.
Where there is offense, let me bring pardon.
Where there is discord, let me bring union.
Where there is error, let me bring truth.
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith.
Where there is despair, let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness, let me bring your light.
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy.
O Master, let me not seek as much
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love,
for it is in giving that one receives,
it is in self-forgetting that one finds,
it is in pardoning that one is pardoned,
it is in dying that one is raised to eternal life.

During this global pandemic we should all join and say these words with the intention of healing every person and every being, and Mother Earth! It’s our home, let’s take care of it!

If you enjoyed this, take a look at A Wedding Vow To NYC: “I Take You, New York City…”, the the city that never sleeps.

Thank you to our friends from Hawk Films (Brasil) that put this together a while back! We just found it in our archives and wanted to share with the world!

Disclaimer: This video has never been shown or promoted before and it was simply made for the love for New York City!

Sweet Corner Bakeshop: A 2 Pound Chocolate Nutella Heart

I cracked open New York’s most famous 2 pound chocolate Nutella heart at Sweet Corner Bakeshop, in the West Village, and got chocolate all over me. But, then again, it’s Nutella!

Subscribe You Tube Behind the Scenes NYC

Even before I moved to New York in April of 2015, I already had a favorite spot in the West Village I visited every time I visited to NYC. It’s not only loved by visitors, but also certainly, by locals.

So, today I have a surprise for you, so you might as well continue reading and watch the video above. Why? I cracked open their famous 2 pound chocolate Nutella heart.

The result? I had Nutella all over me. Hahaha!

Before we start, if you love New York, want to be posted and in tune with all the hidden secrets, new spots and the coolest brands, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

Located on a street corner in the super trendy West Village, Sweet Corner Bakeshop is known for their Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie.

I don’t need to prove how good it is, because everyone who’s tried it, will agree!

But, in case you’ve never been to Sweet Corner Bakeshop, I want to tell you that it’s even won the title of “Best Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie” in town. It’s hard to properly describe and put into words, but I can guarantee that it’s definitely worth ALL the calories, lol!

Plus, it’s made with 4 kinds of chocolate and Sea Salt directly from France, perfectly balanced per cookie!

To pair the cookie, you might want to order their coffee made with beans from Honduras, Brazil and Columbia. The killer combo for any time of the year.

Oh! And that’s not the only highlight. This neighborhood gem is also known for having countless desserts overflowing with a super delicious and rich Nutella filling, like their red velvet Nutella cookie.

And, come on, who in the world does not like Nutella?

Sweet Corner’s founder, Rodolfo Gonçalves, is also known for being a spectacular cake designer, with a creativity many other professionals might envy. Since he was a very young boy, he was always drawing and expressing his artistic gift in school.

The result? Well, you might want to pass by sometime and check out their cake boutique window at the store. You’ll certainly be amazed with what he’s been creating with his team of experts. Some cakes can even take up to 2-3 days to be completely finished!

Plus, as we know, every man has a powerful partner beside him, right? In Rodolfo’s case, his wife, Patricia, is his right and left arm. Such a beautiful, kind, smart and determined woman that is responsible for big part of their well-deserved success.

I told Rodolfo that I’d heard him saying that his mom thinks he’s a super star, and I found that adorable! I mean, moms are moms, but I told him…that maybe she’s right! I heard a few rumors of a quite exciting project coming in early 2019 that might prove her statement! I can’t it share now…but do keep your antennas on! This will be pretty amazing!

I also asked him about a “big dream” he’s always had! Something about a F1 car!?

Well, it appears that, as a huge fan of Formula 1 race car driving, Rodolfo dreams to one day be able to design and bake a life sized replica cake of a Formula 1 race car. And….tchan tchan tchan tchan…this might happen earlier than we expect! So exciting!

Now, straight to the point! I had seen this surreal 2 pound chocolate Nutella heart they were selling during the 2018 Valentine’s Day. Oh, and it’s painted with this super beautiful edible gold paint! It’s went viral on Social Media, especially because only 300 special hearts were produced. Apparently, people were calling and begging to get at least one for them. Quite a commotion! So, I decided to head there, invade their kitchen and help create this huge piece of delicious art. And, of course, crack it open! As Rodolfo said:

“It’s the only heart you can break!”

I was able to do it all, get in action in the kitchen, but I had a bit of a hard time cracking it properly. And, it ends up that I got Nutella all over me and, with the help of Rodolfo, I even had it on my face! But then again, it’s Nutella, so it’s ok!

I’m a chocoholic and I do believe that chocolate is love, and so is Nutella. So, there’s no better gift, in my opinion, regardless of the time of the year. After all, Nutella needs no reason!

Keep your eyes open for the upcoming super star moment and also for the next Valentine’s Day, where they told me, they’ll have another big, viral surprise!

New York has countless cemeteries ranging from huge one that you need a map to walk around, to smaller graveyards spread throughout Manhattan. And, I want to show which are the pretty famous people buried in NYC!

Today, I decided to show you two NYC cemeteries, one in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn, that I think are not only beautiful, but that have some interesting people buried.

And, before I take you to these spots, be sure to subscribe to our channel, like the video and help spread the love our lovely, New York City!

Green-Wood Cemetery

The Green-Wood Cemetery was founded in 1838, and is one of New York’s National Historic Landmarks because of its beautiful landscape, architecture, art and history!

Years before it became a cemetery, it was even e revolutionary war historic site, where the Battle of Long Island was fought in 1776.

In it’s almost 500 acres, you can find largest outdoor collections of 19th and 20th century statuary and mausoleums. Today, it has over 560,000 permanent residents, and I’m going to show you, a few of the famous ones here!

The cemetery is so big that you can actually grab a map at the entrance to help you walk around inside.

Oh! And depending on the day of the week you go, you might bump into Lou. I met him on a Tuesday! He’s been volunteering for years at the small bookstand right by the entrance, and he’s the one to give you the maps. His knowledge of the cemetery’s history is amazing, all the stories, plus he can suggest how you might want to start your tour inside and point out some of the famous gravestones too! Lou is super polite, so do look for him!

If you’re still not sure about visiting, I highly encourage you to, especially because they have great self-guided tours, as well as public and private tours.

Here are some of the names of the famous gravestones I visited and some others that you might want to check out too:

  • Leonard Bernstein: Composer, conductor, author, music lecturer, and pianist. He led the New York Philharmonic in more than 1,200 performances and is very well-known for being the composer of the musical, ‘West Side Story’. That might ring a bell!
  • Samuel Morse: Creator of telegraph system, known as the Morse Code. There is a small replica by his grave;
  • Jean-Michel Basquiat: A super renowned contemporary artist that at a very young age, became internationally known. Unfortunately, he died of a heroin overdose at his art studio at the age of 27;
  • William Poole: AKA Bill the Butcher that was portrayed in Martin Scorsese’s “Gangs of New York” by Daniel Day-Lewis;
  • William Colgate: Yup! The founder of the Colgate empire. I’m sure you’ve already use at least one of his products.
  • DeWitt Clinton: Former US Senator, former Mayor of New York City and 6th Governor of New York. Was largely responsible for the construction of the Erie Canal. Remember your history class?

This is maybe one of my favorite must-go spots in Brooklyn that you’d never think about visiting. It’s a gorgeous cemetery, super peaceful and extremely well maintained. Truly a beauty!

In addition, as I said above, they do have and private tours, but let us know if you need any help!

IMPORTANT: Just remember, be extremely respectful as soon as you walk inside, ok? There might be funeral services happening, as well as people visiting loved ones they’ve lost.

Hours: Green-Wood welcomes visitors at four entrances. Hours vary by season and by entrance. See details below.

Trinity Church

Curiosities City Secrets Famous People Buried in NYC Cemeteries
Alexander Hamilton’s grave, right beside his wife, Elizabeth, at the Trinity Church Cemetery. © Behind the Scenes NYC

Trinity Church is one of the most well-known churches in New York, maybe because of it’s location, since it’s just steps from the World Trade Center.

As soon as you exit Wall Street’s 4 and 5 subway line (green line), you’ll immediately see people photographing the location. There’s no way to miss it!

It’s a historic Episcopal church & cemetery, dating back to 1697 and is the “home” of several very powerful names.

Here are some of these names:

  • Alexander Hamilton: Maybe the most famous name there. Hamilton is one of the 7 Founding Fathers of the United States. The other 6 are: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington. He’s buried right beside his wife Elizabeth and yes, the Broadway musical is about him!
  • Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton: Alexander Hamilton’s wife. Her sister, Angelica, is also buried there.
  • John Jacob Astor IV: Remember we talked about him on our video about a super cool Underground Subway Tour? He’s part of renowned Astor family and was one of the passengers aboard the Titanic. During the tragedy, he remained behind after helping his pregnant wife board one of the lifeboats. His body was recovered a few weeks after the ship sank.
  • Robert Fulton: He was a great engineer and the creator of the 1st commercial steamboat, named The North River Steamboat of Clermonts, in 1807. That obviously gave birth to a new transportation modality, revolutionizing river traffic. This 1st boat’s trip started at the Hudson River, traveling a total of 300 miles to Albany and back. It took over 60 hours. He is also responsible for inventing the 1st submarine in history, the Nautilus and other great creations.

Hours:
Chapel of All Saints: Open daily, 7am – 6pm
Churchyard: Open daily, 7am – 6pm

Location: 75 Broadway

www.trinitywallstreet.org

New York has countless other cemeteries that, as we mentioned, are the home of some of the most powerful names in history, arts, music, politics, etc!

Below are a few more famous people buried in NYC cemeteries, you might want to take time to visit:

  • Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx: Celia Cruz, the Queen of Salsa; Miles Davis, American jazz trumpeter, bandleader and composer; Irving Berlin, composer of music like God Bless America; Duke Ellington, legendary jazz composer; Mark Twin, author and humorist
  • Flushing Cemetery, Queens: Louis Armstrong, famous jazz trumpeter; Dizzy Gillespie, another king of the jazz trumpet, that we talk about during our video about vinyl and record stores in New York
  • Quaker Cemetery, Brooklyn: Hollywood actor Montgomery Clift buried at a private and secret spot
  • St. Raymond New Cemetery, Bronx: Billie Holiday, American jazz singer
  • Machpelah Cemetery, Queens: The one and only, Harry Houdini, the world-famous Magician
  • Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island: Martin Scorsese, the Hollywood film director, already has a family mausoleum waiting for him!
  • Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn: Harriet Tubman, an American abolitionist, political activist and social reformer
  • Sleepy Hallow Cemetery, Sleepy Hallow: Andrew Carnegie, the renowned businessman, philanthropist and industrialist, founder of the Carnegie Hall
  • Salem Fields Cemetery, Brooklyn: Harry Winston, the talented American jeweler

Most Different Museum in New York Of All Times: Museum of Illusions

Entertainment Culture Music Museum of Illusions Fernanda Paronetto

I recently visited maybe the most different museum in New York of all times, the Museum of Illusions! The eye-tricking illusions were super fun and extremely curious!

Subscribe You Tube Behind the Scenes NYC

When we think about museums, most people immediately think about the big, famous ones like the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), MoMA, the Whitney and so many others. If you’ve been with us for a while, some other off-the-beaten-track museums might also come to your mind!

But, a few weeks back, I found one maybe the most different museum in New York of all times: the Museum of Illusions.

Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, they are quite famous is other corners of the world, like in Austria and Slovenia. On September 20th, they finally landed in town and are creating quite a buzz, after all, optical illusions are quite fun to experience, don’t you agree?

That same week, I met with René Gjoni, the CEO of the museum, that was super kind to walk me through the all the installments and illusions. After that, I just HAD to go back and get it on camera for your guys to see!

“Visitors can learn a lot about vision, perception, the human brain and science through our attractive and fun exhibits. In that way, they also learn why our eyes see things that our brain does not understand.”

This fantastic interactive museum, located one of 14th Street’s busy corners, offers over 70 different activities visitors can experience. They are all based on science, math, biology and phycology, but in real life, they are extremely fun and curious! Many are quite simple after we find how they work but, I have to agree that creating them can be certainly challenging.

I passed through absolutely all the illusion and love them all, but the ones that I probably enjoyed the most were:

  • Rotated Room – Are you ready to radically change your view of the world? How about for 90 degrees? In this room you can walk on the ceiling. Your imagination is the limit!
  • Tricky Stick – This exhibit plays with your sense of space. The human brain will automatically suppose that the stick will not fit through the hole;
  • Moving Picture – As you move, the image seems to swivel and follow you. Three-dimensional paintings when viewed from the front initially give the impression of viewing a painted flat surface that shows a perspective view;
  • Swap Noses – You can switch different parts of your faces if both of you, at the same me, move up and down;
  • True Mirror –  We might think we see ourselves in traditional mirrors, but although they appear to show us how we look, in fact they reflect images that are sign significantly altered by being backwards. Step towards the True Mirror, which enables us to see ourselves as others see us!
  • Tilted Room – Try to walk slowly in the ‘Tilted Room’. Can you do it well? It may feel wobbly and difficult to walk in here.

In addition, there are a few exclusive illusions that are only seen in New York City:

  • Thermal Grill – The thermal grill illusion is a sensory illusion. When someone presses a hand against the grill, he or she experiences the illusion of burning heat;
  • Following Eyes – The following eyes are an optical illusion in which the perception of hollow concave eyes look like normal convex eyes. If you stare at them and walk left and right – they seem to follow you around;
  • Zoetrope – A zoetrope is a device that produces the illusion of motion from a rapid succession of static pictures.  This variation uses a rapidly flashing strobe light to illuminate the models, producing an illusion of motion.

So, I can say it’s a place to visit with kids, friends of all ages, family! It’s really entertaining, fun and that will give you countless reasons to laugh! And, you’ll be able to take some of the coolest pictures, and share them on all your Social Channels for your friends to see! I guarantee, it’s will go viral!

Have fun in the Museum of Illusions and share your experience with us: #BehindTheScenesNYC and #MuseumOfIllusionsNewYork!

VR World NYC: A Virtual Reality Experience

Culture Music VR World NYC

As we wake up each day, Virtual Reality is becoming more and more parts of our daily lives, and obviously, our future! Come explore what VR World NYC is all about!

As we wake up each day, Virtual Reality, or VR as we most commonly say, is becoming more and more parts of our daily lives, and obviously, our future!

Today I’m sharing with you my experience at VR World NYC. They are the biggest virtual reality center on this side of the globe with 2 floors and over 50 games, films and experiences for you to try!

The video above shows you some of the ones I have the most fun with, but I do have to say, they are all quite entertaining. You can definitely spend several hours there, since there is just so much to see.

So, what is Virtual Reality?

In a very simples way, it’s an interactive technology that is computer generated and creates experiences that are not possible in the real world, using many of our senses.

And, in the middle of New York’s chaotic 34th Street, you’d never expect to find a place like this. It’s not only super amusing for kids and I’m sure all adults will love it too! I certainly had a great time!

Oh! It’s also a great spot to host a party! There are several cool spaces for groups from 20 and over 400! So be sure to contact them for more details. You can also contact us to help you out or even organize a corporate/team experience.

One of the highlights at VR World NYC: Moveo

You can me inside this one in the video! It’s the first 360º free-rotation VR simulator. You go through fully immersive 3D worlds, flying through space and you experience the gravitational pull of objects nearby.

Exclusive to VR World NYC, MOVEO is harnessing cutting edge technology to create a truly immersive experience.

The simulator is the first of its kind to use independent three axis rotation, connecting the human experience with a responsive audial, visual and physical environment.

I also really enjoyed the experiences on the 2nd floor, once specifically that I was rock climbing in Thailand. It was just SO real. My legs literally got numb by virtually climbing up a cliff and looking down!

It’s crazy how you literally feel everything as if you were actually there!

As I said above, it’s a great place for kids! But, if you’re coming to New York City with kids, but you’re not sure if it’s a good idea, take a look to see all the infinite reasons why NYC is great for kids!

Ray’s Candy Store

Dining Most Famous NYC Desserts Rays Candy Store Fernanda Paronetto Jared Zuckerman

This is a classic! Ray’s Candy Store is one of the most traditional spot in the East Village. Ray and Stella opened over 40 years ago, serving residents and visitors 24h a day since then.

I’m a huge fan, and I’ve written about them before and even shot a super cool boomerang for my Instagram Page with Ray himself behind the bar.

I’d recommend to literally try everything, but I’d start with the one I love the most, the fried Oreos! I promise you won’t regret it!

In addition, the milkshakes are also super refreshing, as well as the soft serves. Plus, everything that has Nutella is a must have, in my opinion. And , finish off the beignets! Phiuf!

Hours: Believe it or not, it’s been 24h since 1974!

Location: 113 Avenue A

Dun-Well Doughnuts

Dining Most Famous NYC Desserts Dunwell Doughnuts

Let  me start with OH. MY. GOD. The first time I had Dun-Well Doughnuts I couldn’t believe how delicious, how fresh, how tasty, how well-balanced and soft they were. Plus, I was in awe when they finished off telling me: “Yup, they are also vegan!”

It was like I had found heaven on Earth! Hahaha! So, this is truly one of my favorite doughnut spot, that is always on the top of my list.

Dan and Christopher founded the place back in 2011 and today they have two locations – one in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn.

How it started?

“Dun-Well Doughnuts started as a food craving when Christopher Hollowell (the “Well” in Dun-Well) called up his buddy Dan Dunbar (The “Dun” in Dun-Well) after having watched a Simpson’s anniversary episode that featured Homer’s favorite round confections rather prominently.”

They have countless options and even some special ones, like the Mac’N’Cheese.

Locations:
102 St. Marks Place – East Village, Manhattan
222 Montrose Avenue – East Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Hours:
East Village: Sunday – Thursday – 9am – 10pm | Friday- & Saturday – 9am – 11pm
East Williamsburg: Monday – Friday – 7am – 7pm | Saturday & Sunday – 8am – 7pm

Wowfulls

Dining Most Famous NYC Desserts Wowfulls

And, to finish in style, I will show you what Wowfulls Ice Cream is all about! We were hosted by David Chan, one of the founders, and he told us a bit about the most instagrammed ice cream in New York today!

They started off as a vendor in the famous street market, Smorgasburg, and today they have this beautiful location in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

We tried the:

  • Velvet Love: Red Velvet Waffle w/ white chocolate chips baked in, served w/ Strawberry shortcake Ice Cream, brownie bites, cream cheese drizzle, Strawberry Pocky and powdered sugar.
  • Home Sweet Home: Waffle with with crazy vanilla ice cream, mochi, strawberries, and caramel drizzle.

Moreover, if you want to learn more, take a look and what we’ve written about Wowfulls!

Hours: Monday – Sunday: 1pm – 9pm

Locations: 309 Houston Street, but you can still find them at Smorgasburg (Saturday’s in Williamsburg and Sunday’s at Prospect Park)

So, that’s all for today’s episode! We hope you enjoyed all these spots with the most famous NYC desserts. Now, I’d bet you’re craving them all, right? Yum!!!

If you liked my friend Jared, that is a famous NYC food expert, you might want to check out a few of the top cocktail spots we visited together. As well some of my favorite vegan restaurants, since he’s a huge meat eater and I wanted to show him what the vegan world tastes like! FYI: He loved it!

Oh! Plus, he took me to a few of the places in Brooklyn he loves the most for a food na drink crawl.

Their story goes way back to the 1930’s, 40’s when her grandfather, Joseph T. Macari Sr. started producing wine in his basement located in Corona, Queens – with his dad and granddad.

Several years go by, business starts flourishing and in the 1960’s they decide to purchase a 500-acre property in Long Island – the same land they are currently on. This old potato farm took quite a few years to regenerate and go back to becoming super fertile.

But, after that happened, and they were able to start producing wine, business took off and never stopped!

Now, what to expect when you arrive at Macari Vineyards?

The first glance at the property is already breathtaking. Everything is impeccable, to the smallest detail. Inside the main house, you’ll find the store with their numerous wines and different bottle sizes. There, you are also able to do some wine tasting, before deciding on which bottle to actually purchase and take home with you.

This house has a huge and beautiful porch. The perfect place to continue your tasting with a great prime view of the winery. It’s the perfect start to your experience at Macari Vineyards.

After you’ve tasted their wines and paired them with a few yummy appetizers – like a great cheese and charcuterie platter – you can explore and tour the property. And, of course, continue your tasting.

Must-See Jazz Spots In Harlem

Nightlife Bars Jazz Spots Harlem Fernanda Paronetto Ze Luis Oliveira

We visited and shot a pretty cool YouTube video at a few of the must-see Jazz spots in Harlem with a super special guest: Zé Luis Oliveira. Come explore these fantastic spots with us!

Subscribe You Tube Behind the Scenes NYC

Harlem is a neighborhood that is constantly growing and new businesses are opening all the time. Real Estate is also booming and prices are going up!

But, it’s also known for being the best neighborhood if you’re into true Jazz. Why? Because some of the most traditional jazz spots, where world-famous musicians have performed, are hidden throughout the streets.

I decided to invite an extremely special guest to host this YouTube video with me! Zé Luis Oliveira that is not only an amazing musician, but is also a composer, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist.

Zé carries a few Grammy nominations too and knows absolutely everything about the Jazz scene. So, it was impossible to not invite him!

We had a musical chat with him at 3 different-style must-see Jazz spots in Harlem: Minton’s Playhouse, Shrine Harlem and Paris Blues.

So, Henry Minton founded Minton’s Playhouse in 1938, but did you know that he was a tenor saxophonist, just like our guest, Zé Luis? Yup! Plus, all the big names like Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald have played there.

In the 1940’s when the bebop jazz style was created, musicians gathered for musical sessions at Minton’s to play and record. On the video above, Zé told us a bit about the bebop, so check it out!

As they say: “The energy and spirit of the Playhouse are a unique and a perfect way to continue your already festive evening. Minton’s Playhouse is home to only the exceptional musicians who will sweep you away with outstanding performances. The highest quality music with the highest quality service and drinks in a fun, one of a kind establishment.”

Oh! Minton’s is not only a great place for Jazz nights, but they also have a restaurant called The Cecil Steakhouse. So, go there for dinner, before the show!

Hours: Daily from 6pm – 12am

Location: 206 West 118th Street

Shrine

Nightlife Bars Jazz Spots Harlem Shrine

The Shrine, is a bit different from the other spots we visited, since it a modern/contemporary world music and Jazz venue. It opened only in 2007 as a multimedia arts and culture venue.

“We are dedicated to art and culture in all mediums: film, theater, dance, and live music. Shrine World Music Venue’s mission is to establish a positive creative atmosphere for both artists and audiences from all backgrounds.”

They host mostly great emerging artists and musicians, that are not only focused in Jazz, but also rhythms and styles, like funk! But, they also have some amazing established artists every now and them!

They are considered one of the top 10 jazz spots to visit in NYC, so be sure to go and check it out!

Hours:
Sunday – Friday: 4pm – 4am
Saturday: 3pm – 4am

Location: 2271 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd

Paris Blues

Nightlife Bars Jazz Spots Harlem Paris Blues Samuel Hargress

We finished off in grand style! We were hosted at Paris Blues by the super well-known owner, Sam! It was truly an honor to meet and have a great musical talk with him!

Paris Blues, in the heart of Harlem and founded by Samuel Hargress Jr, or Sam like I mentioned, back in 1968. They have Jazz 7 nights a week, no cover, free food and great drinks, right?

People go there to listen not only to the super traditional 20’s Jazz, but also to some rhythms of the 90’s funk!

They have a full bar, so you’ll be sure to enjoy every single moment and every single music, with your favorite drink beside you! Have fun!

Hours: Daily from 12pm – 3am

Location: 2021 7th Avenue
