The Cutting Room is New York City’s premier live music venue serving great food, drinks and some of the best live music performances in NY!
From the amazing Bowie, to the unapologetic Lady Gaga, The Cutting Room has quite a story to share!
It first opened in 1999 through 2009, closed for a few years and was then reinvented by Steve Walter and Chris Noth – Mr. Big from Sex and the City. Finally, it reopened in the beginning of 2013 at a new address, in Midtown.
It is considered a special place where you will find great eclectic live music and good food.
The guitar chandelier is obviously one of the stars of the place. Plus, the barber chairs mingle with the décor and the massive wooden staircase is also a highlight. From there, you are able to see the entire place, giving you a privileged view of what’s going on.
“We wanted a place where up and coming artists could get seen and established artists felt comfortable playing club gigs. We wanted a place with great sound, creative food and cocktails where the venue itself was as beautiful as the music.” ~ Steve Walter, Owner
If you want to grab dinner before heading for your exciting night at The Cutting Room, you might want to try the Lebanese, ILILI. We simply love it!
