Founded by a a group of 9 brilliant people, Pug Squad is a non profit organization that helps needy pugs by providing financial assistance to pug rescues.

Their Mission Statement?

“We help pugs in need by providing financial assistance to pug rescues nationwide and support to families who cannot afford to care for their senior and special needs pugs. Our network of volunteers is on call to help pug rescues in the northeast with shelter pulls, transport, and emergency foster homes.”

Learn more about the Founders, Directors and team, read their Bios.

Here are a few projects they are organizing this year:

  • Pug-A-Palooza – May 5-7 in Asbury Park, NJ
  • Pug Camp – August 25-27 – “A dream vacation for pugs, and the humans who love them!”

Plus, don’t hesitate to go to their website to donate! Or, even adopt a little one to be the newest member of your family!

If you are one of the fanatic pug lovers, take a look at all the products for sale at their store. You’ll literally want to buy 1 of each, since they are the cutest things ever.

If you’d just like to foster a pet, take a look at what Animal Haven is all about!

Animal Haven: Pet Adoption – Say “Hi!” to Mickey and Vince

Social Responsibility Animal Haven Non Profit Pet Adoption by Tedi Sarah

Have you ever thought about pet adoption or fostering a little one? Animal Haven is a fantastic non profit that helps find loving homes from abandoned animals.

If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably already know that we’re very engaged in Charity and Social Responsibility programs, right?!

Well, today we want to talk about a great non profit called Animal Haven.

They work in helping find loving homes for abandoned cats and dogs throughout the TriState area!

Plus, they also provide behavior intervention when needed to improve chances of adoption.

On their website, you’ll be able to find information regarding adoptions, different ways to support the organization, upcoming events, volunteer programs, and more!

One of our dear friends, Tedi Sarah, is a big part of this program. She is always fostering dogs – until they find healthy permanent homes.

These two cute pups on the picture are the duo she’s currently caring for, named Mickey and Vince!

Another great idea, if you have kids, is to foster pets! You don’t need to necessarily “commit to life” by buying one, and you can always foster!

We have to confess, we are pretty against buying pets in pet-stores. There is a lot of cruelty and abuse in these places with the animals, so we do not really support them.

More about them:

Animal Haven is a nonprofit organization that finds homes for abandoned cats and dogs throughout the TriState area, and provides behavior intervention when needed to improve chances of adoption.

Founded in 1967, we operate an animal shelter in Manhattan. We also provide programs that enhance the bond between animals and people.

Adoptions: Cats and dogs are for adoption at Animal Haven.

Fees are:

  • $175 per cat
  • $200 per kitten or $300 per pair (Two Kittens Are Better Than One)
  • $295 per dog (includes collar and leash)
  • Puppies under the age of 1 year are $395 (includes collar and leash)

Fee covers spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchip.

Many adoptions can be done same-day. Others may take more time to complete.

You may print and fill out the Adoption Application ahead of time, but they will only accept applications in person. Please DO NOT MAIL OR FAX it in.

Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 12pm – 7pm
Location: 200 Centre Street, Little Italy
