Best Rooftop Venues for a Bachelorette Party in New York

Best Rooftop Venues for a Bachelorette Party in New York Behind the Scenes NYC

New York is definitely one of the best places on Earth to go out! So, check out the best rooftop venues for a Bachelorette party in New York!

Best Rooftop Venues for a Bachelorette Party in New York Behind the Scenes NYCThere are thousands of rooftop party venues in New York and almost every one of them is perfect for a Bachelorette party.

But you want yours to be special (and who doesn’t?) so you have to search through the best ones to figure out what you want. We are going to do that for you.

First, you need to think about the basics like how many to invite, the style, and whether you will have food or just cocktails.

If it is your party, you can easily decide most of these issues but if you are planning it for someone else, you may have to be more creative.

Talk to the bride or, if it is a surprise, the maid of honor about the specifics you will need to plan for.

When will the big day be?

Since the party will be outdoors and it is in New York, the best time for this shindig is spring or early summer.

You do not want it to be too hot or too cold and New York tends to get a lot of snow, so you definitely do not want to plan it for the winter.

Even early autumn is not a bad choice as long as you keep an eye on the weather reports.

Figure out the budget

There is always a budget to think about and with a bachelorette party, there are a lot of little things to count that can add up.

From food and drinks to décor and transportation, you have to make sure you have enough money for everything before you go all out.

You do not want to run out of money before you get it all paid for.

Decide on the guest count

Determining the guest count is not just about how many people are in the bridal party.

Some of the people that the bride may want to be there may not be a part of the bridal party for some reason or another.

And you must think about the budget because the more guests you have, the more money it will cost.

Choose a theme

There are so many themes that you can choose from to make the party more unique.

You do not want it to be just another bachelorette party where the girls don’t really mingle and there is little to no entertainment. Here are some ideas that we think are awesome:

  • Beach theme with swimsuits, colorful drinks, and fake palm trees
  • Vegas theme with casino games, bright neon lights, and Elvis
  • 50s theme with poodle skirts and old-time rock and roll
  • Pink everything for a Barbie theme
  • A final fiesta featuring Mexican food, margaritas, and a piñata
  • Game night theme with board games and fun card games
  • Masquerade or costume party theme
  • Rainbows and glitter for a unicorn party theme

Décor and invites

Once you decide the theme and budget, you can plan the décor and send out the invites.

Make the invites match the theme and be sure to ask them to RSVP as soon as possible. You need to know how many people will be attending to plan the best party.

Choose some games

All bachelorette parties need games no matter whether it is a small get-together or a huge bash.

Of course, you want to try and match the games with the theme as much as possible. Here are some of our favorites:

  • Beach blanket bingo
  • How well do you know the bride?
  • Bachelorette roulette
  • Pin the kiss on the Mister
  • Beer pong with fancy glasses
  • Never have I ever

Secure transportation for the partygoers

No matter how many people you have and where you end up, you want to make sure everyone has a safe ride home. Your friends will appreciate it too. Plan for a party bus, limo, or hire an all-night Uber.

Some great spots to party

The list is endless in New York, but you want something that will fit your needs.

Some of the rooftop venues are for large groups while others can only handle a few. We found a few nice spots to choose from.

#1 Refinery Rooftop

Known as the crown jewel and named #1 Rooftop Bar & Hotel for three years, this chic spot has views of the Empire State Building and Manhattan like you cannot get anywhere else.

The indoor/outdoor floor plan holds 80 guests indoors, 100 in the atrium, and 80 on the outdoor terrace.

You also get a variety of amenities like:

  • DJ booth
  • Entertainment
  • Sound system
  • Fireplace
  • Flatscreen TVs
  • Sushi bar
  • Kosher food
  • Photo booth
  • Private elevators
  • Retractable roof
  • Wi-Fi

#2 Monarch Rooftop

If you have a huge guest list (and budget), check out the Monarch Rooftop on West 35th with room for 200 in the Skylight Lounge or 100 on the Royal Terrace.

They both have party planning, delicious cocktail appetizers, and a variety of drinks. Located on the 18th floor, this place is one of the best with views like no other.

#3 The Crown

For a smaller guest list, on the 21st floor of Hotel 50 Bowery, you can find the majestic Crown.

They can seat up to 50 guests for dining or host up to 100 standing, and the views of the city from the top of this building are stunning, to say the least.

They also have catering and drinks for each of their two terraces.

UNFORTUNATELY THIS RESTAURANT IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!

“I love Miss Paradis in SoHo – prefect for catching up with a friend or two. Nosh on small plates and sip on rose — it adorns the walls of the place. I love the burrata!”

Miss Paradis opened just a while ago, in November of 2016. The place is beautifully designed by Philippe Starck and serves super healthy, seasonal food. Moreover, the dishes are works of art and creatively presented.

They are well-known for their Rosé labels, so we do recommend trying the cocktails on their list. And, as they say: “don’t expect to skip dessert!”

Takoyaki

In New York city, you’ll find surprises around every corner, especially when it comes to culinary treats, such as this popular Japanese snack called “Takoyaki.” What is the most interesting street food you’ve tried?

Posted by Rosetta Stone on Thursday, December 1, 2016

UNFORTUNATELY THIS SPOT IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!

“I stumbled on this gem of a Takoyaki stand on Doyers Street in Chinatown. You’ll get hungry watching the video I made (above).”

If you go to New York, you have to be opened to trying the different street food you’ll find along your way. Plus, if they are literally a hole in the wall, it’s even better.

Hidden in one of Chinatown’s most famous streets, Takoyaki opens only for a few hours during the weekends, so you need to be sure to pass by.

What to try? Maybe a little of everything! Their octopus dumpling is on the top of our list. Prices are super fair, so don’t worry.

Hours: Saturday & Sunday: 12pm – 6pm

Location: 5 Doyers Street

Many people believe that the best NYC hotels are located in Manhattan. So, we decided to show you one of our favorite hotels in New York, located in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn!

The 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge officially opened this past February and in no time, became the new hot spot to stay (and play!), when in NY.

“Thoughtfully designed. Intentionally built.”

It’s the 3rd property of the group, that has a hotel in South Beach – Miami and their 1st NYC location in Midtown Manhattan, steps away from Central Park.

Not only is the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge strategically located by the Brooklyn Bridge – with one of Brooklyn’s prime views of Manhattan, but the entire concept behind the property is pretty cool.

To start, the group behind these properties is active and implements sustainable practices and techniques throughout all their hotels.

We are all about working and supporting Sustainable Traveling – a topic widely discussed this year after the United Nations announced 2017 as the Year of Sustainability.

The idea that travelers today are looking for “smart travel” where you can have fun and, in addition, leave a positive impact in the local community, is growing and what we hope will soon go mainstream.

Moreover, as we discussed at an event we recently sponsored called Travel+SocialGood Summit, sustainable traveling should not be a topic of discussion, since all traveling should be sustainable.

The 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is aligned with the 3 pillar of Sustainable Traveling: Social, Economic and Environmental.

So, let’s talk about their amenities!

Hotels 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Dumbo View

To start, the gorgeous rooms are decorated reclaimed woods, industrial steel, 100% organic cotton sheets and custom hemp-blend mattress by Keetsa. We enjoy the floor-to-ceiling windows – many of which feature an unobstructed view of New York City!

We love cool bathrooms. You can expect bathrooms equipped with robes, socks and soft cotton-knit towels. Plus, their design is pretty unique and integrated perfectly into the room. The interesting and sustainable aspect of it, is that they use triple-filtered rain showers, that come from the rainwater tank built beneath the hotel.

If you want to stay there in grand style, check out the Riverhouse Room, a.k.a. Presidential Suite. It has 3 bedrooms in a 2,000 square foot space, carved stone tub and artwork by fantastic local artisan. And still, a super cool curated minibar where you’ll find some house-made cocktail recipes. How much better can it get? Well, from your bed you have a priceless view of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan’s skyline!

In addition, the hotel offers some delicious restaurant and food & drink options!

Their main restaurant is called The Osprey. As they explain, they serve “market driven American comfort food” and just recently opened early November. The restauranteur behind it is the expert, Matt Abramcyk, known for places like Yves, Warren 77, Tiny’s and Beatrice Inn, where our Insider Interviewee, Natalie Klein, recommended a while back. Matt partnered with chef Michael Oliver and brought in chef Mike Poiarkoff to run the cuisine. The décor, of course, if fabulous with floor-to-ceiling windows and a great view of Brooklyn Bridge Park. They are open daily for dinner at 5:30pm.

Their café, Neighbors, worked exclusively with local Brooklyn purveyors offering super fresh, healthy and seasonal products.

Located at their lobby area, the café receives natural sunlight – a perfect scenery. Their menu offers countless beverages, smoothies and Devoción coffee. In addition, for breakfast they have delicious sandwiches, pastries, granolas, bagels and eggs. Lunch and dinner menus are abundant with soups, salads, sandwiches, sweets and options for the kids. And, they have a fantastic curated selection of ready-made Brooklyn artisanal goods.

The 1 Rooftop is the place to be, especially during the hot and deliciously humid months of the year. Yes. We love “humid” day. They have outdoor seating, full-bar service, great music, beautiful and energetic crowd, tasty bites and a seasonal rooftop pool. It’s a great place to go for drinks or celebrate a birthday with friends! The view? Yup. Priceless! Seeing the sunset and the Manhattan lights lighting up is surely the ultimate Brooklyn sunset experience. They’re open daily from 6am – 10pm.

Hotels 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Dumbo Rooftop
View from the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge rooftop.

And still, the Lobby Lounge is an excellent option for drinks before dinner or before going out at night. They focus on local botanicals, local beers and seasonally foraged ingredients. We love it! They open daily from 4pm through 11:30pm.

After spending a long and exhausting day exploring New York, we can’t forget to mention the Bamford Haybarn Spa!

Open daily from 10am – 8pm, the spa offers a tempting selection of holistic treatments focused on nourishing you from inside out: body – mind – sprit, as they say. Gallow Green: Explore One Of The Top 10 Rooftops In NYC

Nightlife Bars Sleep No More McKittrick Hotel Gallow Green Benches

We simply love rooftops in NYC during spring time. Even during the cruel summer, we’re always looking for the best spots. Gallow Green is one of the top 10 rooftops in NYC with a garden restaurant and bar located in The McKittrick Hotel, in Chelsea.

Gallow Green is definitely a must-go, must-see in town! The view is great, the place is beautiful and the atmosphere has a nature-vibe to it.

When you arrive downstairs, just mention that you’re going up to the rooftop and they’ll let you in.

It’s definitely a different experience! With this hot spring-summer weather, the place makes everything refreshing with it’s countless plants and flowers. Surely makes everything more pleasant and also, gorgeous to the eyes.

The place was ranked as one of the top 10 rooftop bars & restaurants in New York City to visit! This is a pretty big thing, since the city has so many other rooftops.

The are currently offering every Saturday and Sunday a Rooftop Garden Brunch. There you’ll have great live music, special craft cocktails and sweet and savory open buffet.

Gallow Green also offers a dinner menu and a prix-fixe menu that are made with seasonal ingredients.

You can go online for reservations, which we do encourage. The place can get quite crowded and overflowing with beautiful people.

It’s easy to see why it’s considered one of the top 10 rooftops in NYC, right?!

Are you searching for a place for a Private Event? This is definitely a great spot! We can give you a hand, if you need. It’s also great for corporate groups and nights.

Lastly, the hotel houses one of the most amazing long-running interactive theatre productions in the city, called Sleep No More. We do recommend attending it! It’s pretty awesome!

We just love these rooftops in NYC.

NYC Hot Spots By The World Traveller, Ido Simyoni

Curiosities Insider Interviews Ido Simyoni by Chris Loupos

We interviewed Ido Simyoni, a world traveller and the mind behind huge and successful Social Media campaigns that went viral on Instagram, #StopTheTerror. He shared with us his 7 NYC hot spots and answered a few fun questions!

Curiosities Insider Interviews Ido Simyoni by Chris Loupos

Our Founder, Fernanda Paronetto, interviewed a very special guest for this week with an amazing story and how he’s influenced and is still influencing the world through Social Media!

Ido Simyoni (@Ido8All) is the mind behind huge and successful Social Media campaigns that went viral on Instagram, #StopTheTerror.

Check out his Bio, his +7 NYC Tips and a few fun questions:

“After 9 years of working on the biggest TV productions In Tel Aviv (from “The Israeli Idol” to “The Big Brother”), I decided that I need a new challenge. My biggest dream was to move to NYC and this was on my Bio, on Instagram, for almost 6 months: “Living in Tel Aviv, Dreaming of New York City – looking for an opportunity”.

But, the world had different plans for me and (almost 4 years ago) I was head-hunted by an education company (Kaplan International English), based in London, for the role of Head of Creative, Content and Social Media.

In addition, with my storytelling skills and my passion for Social Media, I’ve also managed to achieve some big success in my personal life: from running international the Social Media campaign (#StopTheTerror) to creating powerful Social Media accounts – even for my precious dog, Izo (@TheIzoTimes), traveling all over the world with my #Ido8allBus and sharing the love.”

See below 2 beautiful short videos of his breathtaking experience. The first, he tells us “How it feels to be dead” and his incredible recovery!

…and the second, how he skyrocketed his exposure on Instagram and went Global:

Now, to his +7 NYC Tips:

“My handle on Social Media is @Ido8all (Ido ate all) because I love food, so most of my time in NYC I’m looking for places to eat. The variety of burger places in the city is rad. Finding THE place for burgers was challenging and quite calorie heavy, however I’m happy to announce Burgers and Barrel as my winner because of the taste that makes you want to order more (even though you are completely full #TrueStory).”

Burger and Barrel is an American Pub and is owned by the renowned restauranteur John McDonald and Chef Josh Capon.

With a perfect location, in the heart of SoHo, they feature an award-winning burger named “Bash Burger”. Plus, they have an outstanding wine list.

Hours:
Monday – Tuesday: 11:30am – 10pm
Wednesday – Thursday: 11:30am – 11pm
Friday: 11:30am – 11pm (kitchen) and 12am (bar)
Saturday: 11am – 11pm (kitchen) and 12am (bar)
Sunday: 11am – 10pm

Peacefood Cafe

“Go Vegan (?!) – I love meat and the more red, the better, however when my friend introduced me to Peacefood Cafe – next to Union Square, I just couldn’t believe how amazing Vegan Food can be (they fooled me with Fake Chicken).”

Moreover, the description on their website is surely the best one, so here it is:

Peacefood Cafe is named after the simple idea that peace begins on your plate. Two vegans founded Peacefood Cafe in 2009 on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Eric, an antiques dealer, and Peter, an interior designer, believe the awareness of non-violence can be spread through feeding people with delicious vegan food.

Amazing, right? This is definitely up our alley!

Hours: Check their website to see the different locations.

Locations:
41 East 11th Street, Greenwich Village

Dominique Ansel’s Bakery

Curiosities Insider Interviews Ido Simyoni Dominique Ansel Bakery

“I usually don’t eat anything sweet in the morning, but one thing can’t avoid having at least (1…2… and 3) are the Cronuts at Dominique Ansel’s Bakery… This is giving Bakeries totally new meaning.”

Dominique founded his Bakery in November of 2011 and in no time, was all over the news and receiving countless awards.

Today, it’s not a “behind the scenes” spot any more, but we have to confess it’s still top of our list for Bakeries in the City.

Oh! You might be asking “What is a Cronut?”. It’s a croissant and doughnut hybrid – surely to die for, and as Ido said, hard to eat only one.

Plus, to see more pictures and infos on Dominique Ansel’s Bakery, see our post!

Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8am – 7pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8am – 8pm
Sunday: 9am – 7pm

“I am probably not up-to-date with the latest trendiest rooftop bars in the city, but my heart is with one of my firsts 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar – because the drinks are accompanied with fantastic views of the City and always packed with mega chic crowd. #SelfieWithEmpireState is a must.”

It’s surely one of the best views of the Empire State Building you’ll get, even though it is quite touristy.

The place is beautiful, large windows, beautiful opened area, delicious food and cocktails, paired with a great crowd, as Ido said.

The Music? Well, during weeknights they play upbeat lounge and weekends, primarily 80’s, 90’s and House Music.

Hours:
Opened 7 days a week, all year long, from 4pm – 4am
Food served only up till 12am

“Shopping – When I’m not in Woodbury Common or The Mills at Jersey Gardens, you’ll find me searching for vintage clothes in the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.”

Woodbury Common features over 220 stores including Tory Burch, Nike, Celine, Bottega Veneta, Polo Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Burberry, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, The North Face and more. And, all of it at savings of 25% to 65% every day. They have a list of the best luxury brands with amazing discounts.

Contrary from Woodbury, The Mills at Jersey Gardens is a two-level indoor outlet mall in Elizabeth, located in New Jersey. It’s a great place to spend the day if you’re in the mood of shopping.

Williamsburg, or Willyb as we kindly call it, is definitely a great spot for shopping if you enjoy off the beaten track brands and vintage stuff. But, prices can get surprisingly high around there. We love it anyway.

“You’ll always see me with my camera and phone when walking in the street of the City. However, one of the places I like capturing the most is Chelsea Piers – specially the skateboard park because it reminds me of Venice Beach in L.A., without the beach.”

Located on the Hudson River, Chelsea Piers offers over 25+ different sports if you’re into learning, practicing or even competing.

Moreover, they have great classes and competitions for kids and adults, plus a great health club and other dedicated event spaces.

Hairrari was founded in 2011 by Magda Ryczko in Williamsburg.

Different from normal hair salon, Hairrari “flips the barber salon concept upside down once inside”.

They welcome girls and boys and can work on your unique dream hair style.

And, as they say: “Take a seat, grab a drink, and check out the local art on our walls while we take care of your hair up top and give you the look you want.”

Location: 34 East 1st Street, East Village

We also asked Ido a few fun questions too:

What does NYC mean to you?

“NYC to me is my dream (and hopefully future) home. I have always been fascinated by the city and keep falling in love with it every single time that I’m there…”

Which famous New Yorker would you like to meet? And why?

“With no doubt, Jimmy Fallon. I’m always fascinated by talented people and he’s an example of someone who’s just good in everything he does. So, I would probably challenge him to cook me dinner and choose our outfits, while we do the history of rap 26.”

Do you have any embarrassing moments in the City, you’d love to share?

“I have been to New York more the 18 times and consider myself as someone who “knows the city”. One night, after going out with my non-local friends, I was in charge of ‘navigating’ and instead of going Downtown to Brooklyn we ended up in Queens.

I felt so dumb, but I blamed it on the great wine we had. Luckily they were so tired and tipsy that they ended up forgiving me for this long ride. My tip here is go download and use CityMapper.

Everyone is always looking for the best rooftop in the city. When the summer season arrives, then it’s the only place people want to head to after work or on weekends.

New York City has some of the most fantastic places and the view is always priceless.

The Press Lounge is an amazing place and is located in the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen.

Surrounded by huge glass windows, you are able to witness one of New York’s most amazing rooftop views. To one side the gorgeous Hudson River, to the other side, our beautiful concrete jungle that never sleeps.

Adam Block was sure to created a menu with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from nearby farms and the best regional suppliers. They offers great cocktails with this unobstructed view of Manhattan and the Hudson, besides an extensive wine list and seasonally inspired small plates.

You can try by having their Caipirinha, a very famous traditional Brazilian cocktail. We can guarantee it will not disappoint you and you will ask for more! It can be addictive.

The space opened in 2010 and quickly became recognized as one of Manhattan’s finest rooftop lounges featuring in top publications. Be sure to put your your “casual elegant” attire, since they do have a dress code.

We are sure you will love this rooftop bar in Hell’s Kitchen!

Also, if you enjoyed the Caipirinha, you might want to try other places with this Brazilian cocktail. Beco Bar, in Williamsburg is a super insider spot. Miss Favela can get pretty energetic and crazy. Berimbau NYC is a great restaurant option, if you also want to try typical Brazilian food.

For hotels to stay in Hell’s Kitchen, try the modern Yotel Hotel.
