As many of you know, I participate in a few Charity & Social groups in New York City.

I’m a strong believer, as many of you probably are too, that we have so much time for ourselves, so why not donate a bit of it for those that really need us, right?

Every Saturday morning, I coordinate with a group of friends a Feeding Program, at Tompkins Square Park, called Friends in Need. We feed around 200 homeless people every weekend, rain, snow or shine!

More specifically, it’s on 7th Street between Avenues A and B, in the East Village.

It’s a group created by Friends in Need in collaboration with a beautiful group of volunteers, like the folks from Latinos NYC.

We always need help and everyone is welcome!

So, if you have any questions about the program, feel free to contact us!

DONATE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Date: Every Saturday, rain, snow or shine!
Time: Distribution starts 11:30am sharp
Location: Tompkins Square Park – East 7th Street, between Avenue A and B. We meet at the middle of the block!

About Friends in Need NYC:

Friends in Need Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization with a purpose of helping the less fortunate by providing food, clothing, and living necessities, as well as working with other organizations dedicated to ending or minimizing hunger and hardship.

In addition, we donate food and volunteer time to shelters and soup kitchens in need of financial and human resources. We also distribute warm clothing and accessories during the cold winter months and offer assistance to families through our Family Support Program.

Our feeding programs were initiated in New York City in 2002. Since then, we established and maintain regular programs in 4 metropolitan areas including New York, Newark, Philadelphia, and Pensacola, Florida.

The organization, run by volunteers, continues to grow with complete dedication to our mission of helping those in need.

Furthermore, Grand Master Choa Kok Sui (1952 – 2007) is the inspiration in the establishment of Friends in Need programs. He was the founder of modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. He was a successful businessman, an adept scientist, and a spiritual teacher!”

A bit about Latinos NYC:

“Latinos NYC was founded in April of 2008. Its inception was born out of the vision of the Board’s Chairman, Raul K. Rios, who recognized many of the ills of his community were either being overlooked or under recognized.

Furthermore, Rios served his country in the United States Army from 1981-86, from which he retained the duties of the oath he took and a dedication to finishing his mission.

These characteristics and more are discovered in everything Latinos NYC does.

The company’s name derives out of the mosaic that the Latino culture is within New York City.

A contrasting conglomerate of shades, dialects, customs and more that somehow share a thread of similarity that makes the diaspora so vastly unique and congruent simultaneously.

Over the last several years, Latinos NYC has proudly garnered recognition for their work . In addition, they are continuously are expanding their efforts to grow and improve upon on their success.

So, come volunteer and be part of this amazing group of people! They strongly believe in giving back and working with the local community that needs help. Do you!?

A powerful Meditation: Twin Hearts by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui

Fitness Health Twin Hearts Meditation Grand Master Choa Kok Sui

Are you into Meditation or would love to learn it? Our Founder, Fê Paronetto, has practiced for around 10 years now a meditation called Twin Hearts, which is a super powerful technique created by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui.

If you follow our work for a while, you probably know that sometimes we talk a bit about what we learned and what we do in relation to Meditation practices.

Fê Paronetto is an avid practitioner of a non-denominational and non-religious spiritual system called Arhatic Yoga. In short, it’s the synthesis of all the Yogas. One of the Masters called Stephen Co, explains in more details what it’s all about.

For over 5 years now she practices daily the meditations, breathing techniques (aka pranayamas) and caracter building purifications. Pretty cool, right?

The technique was created by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, it’s currently present in over 45 countries and it’s based in ancient Chinese techniques, previously kept secret from the bigger public.

The first Meditation everyone learns, which is pretty simple, but extremely powerful is called “Meditation on Twin Hearts“.

There are a few versions, but it usually lasts around 30 minutes.

“It works on the physical, mental, and spiritual levels to open the heart chakra (the emotional heart) and the crown chakra (the spiritual heart), thereby enabling you to draw down a great amount of high-quality divine energy into the crown.”

Guys, Fê practices this for many years and she’s tried countless other Meditations, but none as powerful as this one!

If you want to purchase it, here are the links:

If you live in New York City, there are two weekly meditation in Manhattan you can attend:

  • Thursdays: Luisa Wendler hosts, from 7pm-9pm, at Pearl Studios (519 8th Avenue, corner of 36 Street – 12th Floor, Room I). After the Meditation, there is a session of Free Healing, where she uses Pranic Healing techniques.

The New York Pranic Healing Center is actually located in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. It’s pretty close to Manhattan and easy to get there. The main courses are mostly taught from there and the space is amazing.

There are Centers all around the Globe, so regardless of where you’re based, you can find a place to practice. On the other hand, it’s super easy to do it on your own!

We have several followers from Brazil too. Fê started her practices back home in the center based in São Paulo, called Uni Prana. So, if you’re interested in going there, look for Ricardo Cneio Alves. He’ll be able to tell you a bit more about every thing they offer from courses, to the healings.

In New York, go to: www.pranichealingusa.com.

You might also want to try a class at Yoga Shanti with the famous teacher, Colleen Saidman Yee.
