New Yorkers are all about creativity and searching for unique things to do in the city. We all know that summertime in New York is the best time of the year where businesses get creative to attract you into their “homes”.

In addition, we also know how quick summer can pass by, so you should definitely take advantage of everything that’s going on: from unique experiences like jet skiing in the Hudson River, the best rooftop screenings and open door helicopter tours to get pictures of NY from above!

All of that is truly amazing, but today we want to talk about New York’s nightlife! We aren’t the biggest party peeps around, I have to confess, but we do enjoy exploring some of the best hidden cocktail bars in New York.

You’ll find great bars in so many different parts of New York but, have you ever been to a hidden cocktail bar high up in the sky? Yup, that’s exactly what you read!

The Water Tower Bar, located on the very top of The Williamsburg Hotel has one of the coolest bars you can visit. Why? Well, they literally built an intimate space inside a water tower with probably one of the most amazing skylines views of Manhattan!

Just to start off, it’s a pretty interesting walk up! You have to climb quite a few steps…up and up and up, until you get there.

The bar is not a big, making every night an opportunity to actually meet new people and interact with everyone there. The super high ceiling gives us air to breath, combined with the huge floor-to-ceiling windows offering the priceless view I spoke about!

Rael Petit, the expert mixologist of the house, has done some serious work on these cocktails. And, we can say, he really knows what he’s doing! So, lucky us to have found this spot! Actually, lucky everyone!

We decided to try 3 of their most famous drinks to share with you our thoughts! And, bottom line, they were all AMAZING! Plus, the names are all pretty cool too!

This is what we had:

  • Message in the Bottle: Bacardi 4yr, Clarified Milk Punch, Chinese Cinnamon Cordial, Blue Majik Pineapple Juice and Lemon
  • Big Poppa: Hendricks, St. Germain, Thyme Corial, Egg White, Lemon Juice and Angostura Bitters
  • Blue Jeans: Empress Gin, Salers, Velvet Falernum and Dolin Blanc

And, if we could, we’d just continue on tasting the entire cocktail menu!

We just ordered a small dish with mozzarella cheese to eat before. They do have a few options if you get a bit hungry.

The night we visited was on a Thursday. We had the pleasure of listening to a great reggae Brooklyn-based band that got everyone on the dance floor. The band is called Sundub and the singer is called Joanna Teters. Her voice is really fantastic!! Other nights, they have some of the top DJs in town doing some serious music too!

So, now it your turn to go there, try their cocktails and dance a bit! Don’t forget to get some priceless pictures of Manhattan’s skyline!

If you enjoy these posts and finding the next best NYC Cocktail Bar, take a look at some speakeasies we love.

NYC Rooftop Cinema Club For The Movie Lovers

Music Culture NYC Rooftop Cinema Club Seats

NYC Rooftop Cinema Club a will take you on a nostalgic journey back to old school movies! If you’re searching for a different experience in New York City, but you’re not sure where to start, let me help you out.

New Yorkers are known for loving rooftops of every type and the ideas are truly endless. I recently visited, for the first time, an experience I was craving to try: movie screening on a rooftop. And, I have to say, I l-o-v-e-d it!

This NYC Rooftop Cinema Club has been screening some of the best movies around New York City. The experience is certainly great and it’s definitely something you can go to multiple times!

The doors open at 6:30pm so you have time to grab your popcorn, choose your drink at their full bar, get your personal headsets and chose the perfect seat! Screening start at 7:15pm sharp (or when the sun sets) and are super fun!

You’ll find yourself in a rooftop, high up in the sky, located in between massive concrete buildings in Manhattan, sitting in those comfortable deckchairs with pillow and lots of leg space.

The film I chose to see was the 1988 classic “Beetlejuice”. And, I have to say, it got everyone laughing out loud during the music scenes.

We all know the film has zero super effects compared to today’s productions, but that’s what makes it so fun. Remembering how much we loved this back in the days, just takes us back in time.

Now wait! If you’re not really into classics, don’t worry! They also screen cult films and new releases!

More about them:

“We believe that all experiences should be memorable, which is why we are on a mission to transform nights at the movies to cinematic events like no other. You bring your friends and loved ones, and we’ll bring you city skylines, sunsets, starlit evenings, awesome drinks, delicious food, and great movies on the big screen.

Driven by our love of film, our Rooftops promise a handpicked curation of cults, classics, and new releases. We stand for social cinema because we believe it’s the future. Join our movement.”

Aside from New York, they also have screenings in cities like San Diego, Los Angeles, Houston and London. So, if you live in any of these places, or you’re passing by, be sure to check them out.

Oh, and if you want to give someone a different type of gift, this could be it! Take a look at their Gift Vouchers.

For other types of cool experiences in New York, you might enjoy attending live sports with local hosts or even jet skiing in the Hudson River!

Hotels William Vale Williamsburg Brooklyn Rooftop View

What was once an outcast neighborhood, is now becoming the place to eat, play, sleep and work. Brooklyn, as we all know, is the second biggest boroughs in New York, but is the most populated one by far!

Today, people are moving into Brooklyn, new businesses are opening every week and now, even the tourists are keen in exploring what this neighborhood is all about.

That said, we decided to share a quick post, listing a few hotels and accommodation options to stay, if you’re also looking to spend more time in Brooklyn.

Check them out below!

The William Vale

Hotels William Vale Williamsburg Brooklyn

Ok. We know that this hotel is a bit touristy, but it’s today the most prestigious and grandiose place to stay in Williamsburg.

The William Vale opened to the public in September of 2016. There is no way to miss it, since it’s the biggest building by the river with a unique architecture. In addition, it’s very well located and easy to commute to and from.

Its rooftop is one of the most coveted ones during the hot months, since if offers a 360º view of New York. You can literally see everything from up there – Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island and even New Jersey. Phiuf!

It has a few dining options from Leuca, on the ground floor, to the rooftop bar called Westlight on the 22nd floor and even the Vale Pool, opened seasonally, exclusively for guests. They also offer great cocktails to start off, or end the night.

The rooms are very modern and fully equipped with everything you might need!

Location: 111 North 12th Street

Wythe Hotel

Hotels Wythe Hotel Williamsburg Broooklyn

The Wythe Hotel was probably the first, trendy boutique hotel in Williamsburg. Housed inside a former factory, the brick façade gives their guests a nostalgic feeling.

Known for hosting some of the best rooftop parties with a breathtaking view of the city, it’s attracts a pretty high-end, hip crowd.

The New American restaurant is called Reynard, is open up through mid-night and welcomes walk-ins. They offer breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner, so you’ll be sure to find a time to pass by.

Finally, rooms are decorated with some of the original historic industrial detailing, setting the vibe to the place. But, nonetheless, it offers a full-service mini bar, heated floors, free wifi, beauty products in the bathroom and more! Enjoy!

Location: 80 Wythe Avenue

The Williamsburg Hotel

Hotels The Williamsburg Hotel Williamsburg Brooklyn

Steps from the Wythe Hotel, you’ll find The Williamsburg Hotel. It’s recently launched in 2017 and has quite a few unique tweaks to it.

It’s 150 rooms, spread throughout 8 floors are fully equipped and many have a great views, so be sure to pick the ones where you’ll see Williamsburg from above.

They offer great little tuk-tuks to take guests to bars, restaurants, to the subway, helping them commute in the neighborhood. Pretty cool, right? If you enjoy biking, you can borrow them at the hotel for a full day too!

The restaurant, Harvey, offers dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Their bread is made in-house and their tea time is a must-go. Ah! breakfast is “their treat” as they explain, and we just love it! Come on, paying for breakfast at a hotel is always quite annoying, right? Bonus points for them!

In addition, if you’re into good Jazz music, stay tuned at their upcoming events!

Location: 96 Wythe Avenue

The Pod Hotel

Hotels The Pod Hotel Williamsburg Brooklyn

Finally, the Pod Hotel is also a new addition to the neighborhood.

With other 3 locations in Manhattan – Midtown, Murray Hill and Times Square, they have finally opened in Brooklyn.

The Pod’s restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with indoor, outdoor and rooftop seating, which we love! It also offers a lounge area and work space, if you’re in the city for work.

This hotel is very budget friendly, while also offering a great experience. The design is very modern, rooms are small, but they all have private bathrooms and it’s super well located.

You’ll be able to explore the neighborhood, while sleeping in the heart of it!

Location: 247 Metropolitan Avenue
