To start, besides the meaningful story and a unique craftsmanship, Aurora Lopes Mejia has over 20 years of experience, with work inspired by the power of words!

This Mexican-born artist features written words in her bespoke silver and gold jewelry pieces created in her SoHo loft studio.

Her passion began as a kid with her desire to understand and learn the deeper meanings of words.

As a kid, Aurora would flip the endless pages of Dictionaries, in search for the meaning of everything. She’s profoundly amused with the etymology of words.

Plus, the collections are also inspired in ancient civilizations. The talismans are created to remind people of their personal empowerment and transcendence.

Today she creates timeless pieces mostly made of gold with inscribed words making it an eternal token.

Contact her to schedule an appointment and create your own customized talisman.

“In order to create a personalized talisman, I encourage you to take a moment to explore your inner most constant aspirations.

Therefore, it is my pleasure to collaborate with you in order to document the unique reminders of your life”

~ Aurora Lopes Mejia

After visiting Aurora’s studio in Soho, you might enjoy exploring it a bit more of the neighborhood.

If you’ve never heard of Giorgio Morandi, it’s ok, but you most likely have seen his work. We are going to tell you a little about the Modern Art by Giorgio Morandi.

He was born in Bologia, Italy. Morandi focused his entire career painting still life objects like vases, pots, bowls, extending into flowers and landscape. You might also see a hand full of self portraits too.

His art work is very simplistic, the earthy tones. This surely made him a visionary of the Minimalism that started post World War II, around the 1960’s and 70’s. He paints (and repaints), several times these objects, paying close attention to the light aspects.

“The exhibition focuses on the artist’s rarely seen works from the 1930s—the decade when Morandi reached full artistic maturity and developed his distinctive pictorial language.”

There are over 50 paintings, etchings and drawings being featured at the Center for Italian Modern Art, a nonprofit organization located on Broome Street.

During his life, he drew over 130 etchings and painted over 1,300 oil paintings. Surely a remarkable number.

These fascinating art works have not been seen in the U.S. for over half a century and are definitely a must-see!

Tickets can be bought online, through their website – they cost a symbolic $10.

This isn’t exactly a “secret” kept by New Yorkers, but it’s definitely worth talking about!

Well, it obviously can’t be a secret when you pass in front of a store and there is a massive line that goes around the block right? That calls “a little” attention for any one passing by. Ha!

Located in SoHo, Dominique Ansel Bakery launched in November 2011. In just a few months, it received the award of the “Best New Bakery of 2012”! From that time on, the crazy, monstrous lines started!

Then, in 2013, Business Insider named Dominique as one of the “Most Innovative people Under 40”. Of course, after that he received numerous other important awards! His signature sweets are the cakes and tastes. Surely, hard to choose from!

But wait, we can’t forget about the famous and desired Cronut! It’s a mixture of Croissant with a Doughnut! Sound crazy good, right? Well, in simple terms: It. Is.

About the Cronut:

Taking 2 months and more than 10 recipes, Chef Dominique Ansel’s creation is not to be mistaken as simply croissant dough that has been fried. Made with a laminated dough which has been likened to a croissant (but uses a proprietary recipe), the Cronut® pastry is first proofed and then fried in grape seed oil at a specific temperature.

Once cooked, each Cronut® pastry is flavored in three ways: 1. rolled in sugar; 2. filled with cream; and 3. topped with glaze. The Cronut® pastries are made fresh daily, and completely done in house. The entire process takes up to 3 days.

There is only one flavor of the Cronut® pastry every month here in New York, London, and Tokyo, never repeating.

Other amazing items you might want to try at Dominique Ansel Bakery: the macarons, the homemade granola and the miniature meringues. Actually, the list is too big to write, so just be sure to try a few of what calls your attention! It’ll be hard to go wrong.

You can also order online!

Chef Ansel’s first cookbook “DOMINIQUE ANSEL: The Secret Recipes“, published by Simon & Schuster released in October of 2014.

Organizing a private event in NYC can be challenging so, let our experts help you out with everything.

We also work with Corporate requests of any size, so contact our team to understand what we can do for you, your team and your clients.
