Back then, Midtown was considered an elegant part of Manhattan where wealthy and prosperous families owned the neighborhood.

Today, the area is still pretty prosperous. However, high-rises now fill the area, housing an infinite number of companies.

Speaking about,  John Hemenway Duncan, a prize-winning American architect is the designer of the hotel.

Very renowned at the turn of the century, Duncan also designed for some of the most gorgeous townhouses. You can find them at the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The Wolcott Hotel was not only sought by their loyal guests, but also by a large number of renowned names who eventually became residents too.

A few names were: Buddy Holly, an American musician and singer-songwriter and Mark Twain, an American author and humorist!

Also, the hotel has hosted several famous people (from earlier decades), and has been the scene of countless photoshoots. Names like Jennifer Lawrence, Oprah Winfrey, Amanda Seyfried and Princess Pia Mia are a small part of the list.

Prices are very reasonable and can range from $180 up through $300 for a triple room.

Finally, the location is pretty close to the some great spots in Manhattan. If you plan to commute by train, you will be walking distance from a few main subway stations.
