This is definitely a must-go for those who believe in creating art with your own hands! Tomorrow we will attend a super cool weaving class at Space98 in Williamsburg, with the super talented Prissage Studio!
We are huge fans of artisanal handcrafted work and even more, if we’re able to learn how to do it ourselves. It’s also something therapeutical, nonetheless.
Ahna, from Prissage Studio, is the person responsible for organizing this upcoming event. There will be a space sectioned off, within Space98 in Williamsburg, dedicated to the workshop.
For the workshop you will be provided (to keep!): a handmade wooden loom, tools to weave with 2 shuttle sticks, a weaving sword, tapestry needle, yarn to finish your tapestry and instructions.
It’s a 3 hours long workshop, since weaving is a very intensive process. So, we do have to preface that you won’t be able to finish your first wall hanging tapestry, in class, but will be taught how to finish and continue at home.
Also, Urban Outfitters will be providing the refreshments. Plus, if you’ve never been to Space98, it is one of the top stores to visit in Williamsburg.
A bit about the space:
“At Brooklyn’s Space Ninety 8, art, shopping, events, and dining come together under one roof with a shared five-story space that combines retail, galleries, a rooftop bar and gathering place, and an ever-evolving pop-up roster curated for the community.”
Come meet us and enjoy a unique day with Prissage Studio! Secure your spot, they are limited!
Weaving class has never been so cool! See you all there!
