New York is known for having some of the coolest bars and best signature cocktails in the world! So, we decided to show you a few of my favorite spots, serving the top cocktails in Brooklyn, to start your drinking adventures throughout NYC!
Many of you come to New York in search of the hottest bars and crazy cocktails in town! So, due to countless requests, for the very 1st episode, of our 2nd YouTube Season, we decided to shoot a short a sweet video about 3 of our favorite bars to start off your journey to find your favorite spot!
I, once again, invited my friend Jared Zuckerman, a travel and food expert, to come explore NY with me, off the beaten path!
We visited 3 places in Brooklyn, with fantastic cocktail: Rabbit Hole, a true local hotspot, Lighthouse BK where we tried their signature cocktails and saw how they insert sustainability into their business and finally Huckleberry Bar, with their seasonally driven menu and famous outdoor patio!
We got a bit tipsy along the way, but I think that that was the point, right?

Rabbit Hole
The Rabbit hole is truly one of the secret gems in Brooklyn. The spot is over 10 years old, but it didn’t start off as a restaurant/bar. The owner, Lawrence Elliott, opened a bakery called The Read Café, with the most delicious homemade pastries. In no time, it became the neighborhood’s to-go spot, filled with the local crowd.
Their pastries are still known for being fantastic and their best sellers are the cookies, muffins and scones.
But, today we can to talk about their cocktail bar! We decided to try two drinks and the result was as expected: super soft, well-balanced and flavorful drinks!
We had the French Marguerita made with tequila, cherry liquor, ginger and garnished cherry, and The Smoke, that is a mixture of Laphroaig – a Single Malt peated Whisky, clove syrup and lemon juice with burning stick of rosemary.
It’s on the top of the list for drinks. Plus, they also offer an amazing brunch, lunch and dinner menu and their outdoor garden is perfect for the warmer months!

Lighthouse Brooklyn
The 2nd place we visited was Lighthouse Brooklyn. We’re written about them in the past, and decided to shoot a video since we love it! This spot is also a winner for two reasons: First, their cocktails, of course; and two, their Mediterranean inspired menu is out of this world!
We spoke to the owners, and brothers, Naama and Assaf, that showed us the reasons of why their spot is always overflowing with great people.
The entire story about Lighthouse is focused on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients and the concept that everything is recyclable. As they say: “We recycle, compost, and collaborate with other green minded organizations to grow, improve and educate ourselves, our staff, our guests.”
Well, now to the drinks…Assaf prepared the Mezcalito, made with Mezcal, jalapeno, agave, fresh lime and salt and the Summer Sangria, with gin, St. Germain, sake and seasonal fruit.
The Sangria was super refreshing and the Mezcalito is perfect if you’re into spicy, stong cocktails, but nonetheless, smooth to drink!
We have to confess that we did have their mezze platter and I do recommend it blindly. It’s extremely tasty. It has smoked labne, hummus, tahini + arissa, charred eggplant labne, olives and a hot staff.
Now…headed to our 3rd and final stop…

Huckleberry Bar
[UNFORTUNATELY THIS PLACES CLOSED AFTER THE PANDEMIC.]
And for our grand finale, we headed to Huckleberry Bar, that is famous for its seasonally craft cocktails!
We had the talented and beautiful Serena doing a few of her favorite drinks for us!
We tried the Strawberry Field, obviously named after the Beatles’ song, made with house-infused Dill Vodka, wódka, house-made strawberry syrup, lemon juice!
The other drink was The Sun Also Rises – a great mix of square one botanical vodka, Amaro Nonino, yellow Chartreuse, cinnamon syrup, Angostura bitters and prosecco.
Their menu is quite entertaining with very peculiar names for their drinks, like: Message in a Bottle, Drinking at the Gym, Bahia Via Brooklyn, and my favorite, I Demand Satisfaction! Pretty curious, right?
Why go there?
“Though it’s just about the best bar in East Williamsburg for a date, the atmosphere is just as dynamic as the menu; it’s the perfect place to enjoy a sunny day from the shade of our lush garden, to relax by candlelight on weeknights, or to get your nightlife fix on the weekends with some of Brooklyn’s best DJs.”
And, as I said in the beginning, if you’re drinking do NOT drive, and if you’re not driving drink with moderation and responsibility! Be responsible and get tipsy in the BTSNYC style. Have fun with your friends in all these super cool spots!
