I had the greatest time with Jared, from Eat and Be Full, shooting for our YouTube Channel! He took me on a fun drinks and food crawl in Brooklyn, to some of his favorite spots! I’m sure you’ll love the video and have a fantastic time with us!
I met Jared Zuckerman back in 2015 in a foodie event I went to with another dear friend called Jabber Al-Bihani, founder of Komeeda! And, I have to say, I was instantly captivated by his charm and bustling energy!
Jared is the Owner & Founder of Food and City, a consulting and brand development company who has flooded social media with some of today’s most viral food concepts. He works with some of NY’s top restaurants and is also an influencers as @EatandBeFull on Instagram.
It took some time to actually reconnect after meeting him, but after we did, we just stayed in touch! The conversation of shooting a video was going on for a few months, until we were finally able to actually find a date in common that worked for both of us. Phiuf!
And, voilá! We hope you love the final result, as we did!
Below are the places we went to and we’re sure you’ll get quite a few laughs out of the video!
The Bedford
I’ve written about The Bedford a while back and have been there quite a couple of times myself. It’s truly a great spot, with a peculiar story, amazing food – not only for meat eaters but also for vegans and vegetarians – and delicious cocktails.
One of the pretty interesting facts about the place is that it was actually built inside a former garage, and was transformed into a speakeasy and gastropub with an awesome, rustic décor.
We tried one of their bestsellers, the Mac’N’Cheesy, which is actually a burger with fried Mac’N’Cheese buns holding the it all together, with a delicious sauce! Plus, it’s paired with French fries! Yum!

The Craic
The Craic is also one of my to-go bars in Brooklyn and I’m there quite a lot with my friends. Why? Well, it’s surely a “locals-only” spot, they have a gorgeous full bar, a pool table and a juke box with the most fantastic playlists. It’s a place easy to simply pass by and not see it, so be sure to pay attention when looking for it!
I have to confess, every time I’m there I’m mostly hanging around the pool table, hahaha! Yes, I love playing pool and I’m pretty good at it too.
Jared is also there quite often, so much so that every time he walks in and sits at the bar, the barmen know exactly what to serve him: Old Fashion made with bourbon. I had The 488, made with Titos vodka, St. Germain, lemon juice, agave, fresh mint, strawberry, topped with a splash of soda water.
Oh, and they have a daily Happy Hour ‘til 8pm.
Hours:
Monday – Wednesday: 4pm – 4am
Thursday – Sunday: 12pm – 4am
Location: 488 Driggs Avenue
Roebling Sporting Club
If you’re into watching sports, Roebling Sporting Club is the place to go. This local sports bar gathers a great and energetic crowd during game days and had countless TVs spread throughout the walls. So don’t worry, you’ll be able to watch the game from different angles.
They have Trivia nights every Wednesday from 8pm – 10pm.
And, if you’re into singing and showing your artistic soul, they have a karaoke night every Friday, from 11pm – 3am, hosted by The Kings of Karaoke. Not sure about this? Well, try their Jello Shots to give you courage to go on stage!
It’s also perfect for the night owls, since it’s open ‘til 4am!
Hours:
Monday – Friday: 4pm – 4am
Saturday – Sunday: 7:30am – 4am
Location: 225 North 8th Street

Sweethaus
This is for the “sweet tooth” crowd out there, like us! Sweethaus is a sweet haven, so be sure to carefully look at everything they have, before purchasing!
To start, the place is very charming with a “vintagy” style décor. They are well-known for their cupcakes. I’m personally always looking for the best Red Velvet cupcakes in town and their Red Velvet is truly to-die-for.
Some other bestsellers are: Vanilla & Chocolate topped with cookie dough, Salted Caramel, and the Everything Cupcake that, as they say, is for the “salty and sweet combo lover! The chocolate cake has bits of caramel, marshmallow and Oreo. It’s then frosted with peanut buttercream and rolled in pretzels, salted caramel pieces, Oreos and mini peanut butter cups.”
But wait! There’s more! At the back of the store, they have an insanely huge wall with hundreds of candy bowls to pick from! So be ready to splurge on your diet and put together your candy bag(ssss)!!!
Oh, you might also want to try the famous New York Baked by Melissa cupcakes as well.
Hours:
Sunday – Thursday: 8am – 8pm
Friday & Saturday: 8am – 9pm
Location: 135 Metropolitan Avenue
Loosie Rouge
Last, but definitely not least, Loosie Rouge! We adore this hidden spot located in South Williamsburg, an area still relatively free from tourists just like we love!
They have a few difference ambiences. As you walk into the restaurant, Loosie’s Kitchen & Café, it feels like you entering a fantasy world. The restaurant’s décor is beautiful and uplifting, with a skylight ceiling that allows natural light to come in! They serve divine local food, from a menu that changes every few weeks, which we think is pretty awesome!
The bar right next door had a separate entrance, though it’s also internally connected to the restaurant in the back. They have fantastic music and heavenly cocktails.
When we shot the video, I tried the Poached Pear Salad with baby gem, green goddess, blood orange and castelrosso. Jared, a proud meat-eater (hahaha!) had an insane dish – the Loosie’s Fried Chicken, with house pickles, biscuit and hot sauce.
There is actually so many things to try and new dishes every couple of weeks, that it’s a place you can go back again, and again, and again!
